Ending "Murder, my dear!"

Sonia picks up the phone.
-Hello?
It was Jarvis. He was desperately asking to talk to Fletcher, who immediately took the phone and politely talked to the detective inspector. But when Jarvis told him that he really needed him to come to the station he was suddenly acting suspiciously, but agreed they would meet at the police station in 30 minutes. Once he got there they took him to hearing, and asked him once again to tell them what he think he saw. You could clearly see he was sweating now and was acting really nervously. This time he changed his story, and suddenly said it was possible he could have seen wrong when the incident happened. The policemen was suspicious against Fletcher, but they didn't have evidence enough to arrest him, so they had to let him go, at least for now. They never saw any more of Fletcher, and started thinking maybe it wasn’t him after all.

They had to close the case the next month since they didn’t find anything at all that could help the investigation. The Detective Inspector got fired six months later after he failed to solve two other cases of murder. Two people got murdered under the same circumstances as the earlier case. Two years later Jarvis decided to flee far from the place where people hated him for being ‘such a bad cop’. He moved to Bahamas, where no one knew his past and he could start all over again. He opened a small grocery shop for a living, just enough so he could afford the small flat he hired. One day, he walked to the bar by the beach to have a drink. But as he seated he realized something was familiar. The man who stood there, in the bar. It was Fletcher. He just stood there, and watched Jarvis with a grin on his face.
-It was you all along, wasn't it? said Jarvis.
-Of course it was. Sorry for ruining your job by the way, said Fletcher and served him his drink.
