On more than one occasion, my dog would bite me.
The body was declared dead.
The hinges on the door were loose.
When I told him the bad news he got mad, grunted and walked away.
My swelling from after I sprained my ancle has gone down.
The air was really humid today.
In case you're on a desert Island, you must first of all find refuge.
The case would remain unsolved.
I hesitated for a second before I decided whether to do it or not.
The haze made it hard for me to see more than 30 meters ahead.

Summary charters 11-20 Holes

After Stanley had tried to get the rest of the day off by showing mr sir a fossil, X-ray went up and talked to him. He told Stanley that if he ever found something interesting, he should give it to X-ray, since he has been on the camp the longest. Stanley just accepted it since he didn't want to get in any trouble with any of he boys. Besides, he didn't think he would ever find something interesting.

He kept digging holes the past few days, and after a while, he actually found something. It was a small golden tube with initials written on it. He tried hiding it from X-ray but suddenly Zigzag saw that he had found something, and it was too late. Stanley felt like he had no choice but giving it to X-ray, so that's what he did. X-ray decided to pretend he found it the day after so he would get a whole day off. The next morning, when X-ray told mr Pendanski he found the tube, the Warden showed up for the first time and gave him the rest of the day off.

The next week and a half all the boys had to dig where X-ray said he found the gold tube, but neither of them found anything, since it wasn't the actual place where the tube was found. But Stanley still didn't say anything, he still avoided getting into trouble with the boys.

One day when they were digging, Magnet stole a sack of flower seeds from mr Sir's truck. They passed the bag around, and when the bag came to Stanley, something suddenly happened. The sack somehow fell into Stanley's hole, and all the seeds fell out. At the same time, mr Sir came back with this truck. Stanley desperately tried to cover it up, but when me Sir looked into his hole, he noticed that something was in the hole. When he saw the sack he asked Stanley how it got there, and he just told Mr Sir that he stole it and ate them all by himself. Mr Sir drove Stanley to the Warden's house to tell her what had happened. But when Stanley told the Warden about the seeds Mr Sir said he didn't think Stanley did it. The Warden told Mr Sir that she really re and got really mad. She took her nail polish which she claimed contained rattlesnake venom, and scratched Mr Sir in the face, and he collapsed.

Question for the discussion about 'Holes' week 11

Question 1(white hat): Who was Elya Yelnats?

Question 2(yellow hat): on pages 19-20 one of the boys at the camp, Armpit throws Stanley to the ground just because he accidentally spoke to him by his real name, which is Theodore. What do you think makes Stanley always keep polite in situations like this, when everyone else is mean to him?

Question 3(black hat): Why do you think there is a camp in the middle of nowhere in Texas? Do you think it's just a coincidence that it was built there or do you think there's any specific reason why?

Question 4(red hat): On page 6, when Stanley sat on the bus on the way to the camp, how do you think he felt? Do you think he was worried? Scared? Excited?

Question 5(green hat): on page 51 Stanley found a fossil and tried giving it to Mr Pendanski to get the rest of the day off, but he just laughed and said the Warden wasn't interested in fossils. What do you think the Warden is actually looking for, what do you think he is interested in that might occur in the holes?

The Perfect School

Every morning I start pretty late, around 9.a.m. When I first arrive and can see the school I see the majestic white, high building with and the beautiful flowers that surround it. When I walk through the big main entrance I see the cafeteria with free food, which is really good if you didn't have time to eat breakfast. They serve everything from waffles and pancakes to fruit salads, smoothies and cookies. The lessons are always really fun, because the teachers are totally amazing. They really put their heart into this, and do everything they possibly can to make the students’ time in school fun and educational. They always listen to their students, and let them decide how to learn different things. In this school, they just don't listen to the pupils and then decide what to do by themselves anyway, they really decide depending on what the students have to say. During the lessons we can do everything from watching educational movies or reading to visiting different places that have something to do with our current topic. And as I mentioned earlier, we always start pretty late compared to other schools. That’s because our teachers value the students’ sleep and think it’s better to have had a lot of sleep and work focused for a couple of hours rather than working more hours when you're not concentrated due to lack of sleep. All the students at this school are really different, but we all accept each other anyway.

Between the lessons we usually have around 30 minutes free when we can do whatever we want. We could hang out at one of the “living rooms” as we call it, which are rooms that are meant to be used by us. In these rooms they have couches, TVs where we can watch movies and tv series, speakers if we’d like to listen to music, and even candy and fruit free for us to take if we’d like to. We could also be at the cafeteria, where you could buy something to eat if you're hungry when it's not lunch. Or maybe you want to go outside to the garden? In the summer they often have activities in our garden that often includes water balloons, waterslides and tons of other fun things! But that's to prefer if you have longer pauses between the lessons so you don't have to walk soaking wet to the next lesson. When it's time for lunch they always serve a buffet with many options of different dishes. They often serve food like pizza, pasta, tacos, lasagna and Indian dishes. Well pretty much everything you can think of. They also always have the same salad bar. There you can pick freely from all types of vegetables, croutons, chicken, bacon, and different types of dressings. That way you can always make your own salad if you wouldn't like the other food that's served.

One of the most important things at our school is that everyone's equal and no one should be discriminated. We don't have that many special rules, but there's one. If anyone would bully or discriminate other people at the school, they often get expelled. Not forever, but we really want to show that we don't accept bullying, so we forbid some students to come here for some days up to a week, depending on what they did. I actually think that’s good, because now no one that I've heard of in the whole school has had to be expelled in the last years!

I just think this school is amazing, the students are always put first and the school makes sure we get a good time here at the same time as we get really educated!
